San Leandro

San Leandro is a friendly and diverse city with a colorful heritage and numerous cultural amenities. Discovered in 1772 by a Spanish explorer, San Leandro became famous during the late 1800s and early 1900s for its delicious cherries. San Leandro is known for its quiet, well-defined neighborhoods full of charming and unique older homes on tree-lined streets. San Leandro’s temperate weather also makes it an excellent place for outdoor recreation. San Leandro homes range from $225,000 to $995,000 with a median price of $350,000.

Castro Valley is nestled in a quiet valley surrounded by tree covered rolling hills and enjoys a rural atmosphere. Castro Valley not only boasts a beautiful atmosphere, but a very involved and exceptional business community. Castro Valley was named after Don Guillermo Castro, who was a soldier in the Mexican army and a rancher, Castro had a gambling habit and had to sell off portions of his land to pay gambling debts. Castro Valley’s schools are top notch and award winning. Castro Valley homes range from $285,000 to $2,600,000 with a median price of $440,500.

               Hayward

Hayward is known as the “Heart of the Bay”, not only for its central location but also for its accepting and caring environment, with a pedestrian-friendly downtown. Hayward has convenient access to two BART stations, an Amtrak station, the Hayward Executive Airport, and easy access to San Francisco, Oakland, and San Jose airports. Hayward’s homes range from $180,000 to $1,600,000 with a median price of $440,500.

 

                                                                San Lorenzo

San Lorenzo is an unincorporated, suburban community south of Oakland in the near East Bay. Although a small settlement at San Lorenzo dates to the 19th century, nearly all of San Lorenzo’s houses and most of the other buildings were construced during the community’s period of rapid growth between 1944 and 1958. San Lorenzo homes range from $243,000 to $425,000 with a median price of $348,000.
